Exposure Modes – What’s this PASM ?
By Karl Peschel on May 17, 2007 in camera use, exposure modes, how-to
What to do, what to do! There’s just SO many things to discuss in the world of digital photography. During my years of selling cameras and teaching classes I got lots of questions about exposure modes. So, I think the next series of articles needs to be about Exposure.
I’ll cover shutter speed, aperture and the 4 primary exposure modes: Program, Aperture priority, Shutter priority and Manual. By this time next week you should have a good understanding of what they are, how they affect your resulting pictures and which to use when.
Go review your camera manual so that you know what Exposure modes you have available. Come back tomorrow and we’ll get started!
