There are 2 photo contests that started recently that I wanted to alert you to.

Would you like to add a Tamron 18-250 AF lens to your arsenal? Enter your best photo of a natural or manmade landmark from anywhere around the world and this great new lens could be yours. The contest is open to US residents only. You can enter Tamron’s Make Your Mark photo contest via mail or email and entries must be received by Oct 31, 2007. Details are at their website.

If you have a preference for cold hard cash you could enter the Ritz Camera Summer photo contest. Each of the 5 category winners get $2,000 and 45 more winners get either $1,000 or $500. Print entries can be dropped off at any Ritz or Wolf Camera store or sent via email. Details are in the Summer catalog and on their website. Deadline is Sept 15, 2007. Search through your stash of photos and see if you’ve got a winner.

** I checked the Ritz website and they still have info about the 2006 contest!! Being an ex-employee I’m not surprised they haven’t updated the website. Contest started yesterday! Be patient, check the website again in a few days, or just go grab a catalog from your local store. The entry form is in it.
** UPDATE 6/19/07 The website is correct now, but they don’t have the entry form online (sheesh!). Deadline is Sept 15th and MAYBE they’ll have the form online by then.
